I John, II John, III John

I John, II John,
III John

Summary: John the disciple of love. By this time in his life he had been banished to the Island of Patmos. He had gained quite a resume by this time disciple of Jesus, seen the Resurrection, twelve years in spreading the word, boiled in oil as if it was a warm bath and then banished to a small island. Though it is not agreed upon these epistles where written either on Patmos or sometime before. I like to believe with all the time on his hands John wrote these on Patmos before Revelation. John first letter was to reassure the body of believer and to counter false teachers, the second letter to the lady and her children was to continue to fight bad teachers. John's last letter was short and written to Gauis a man who opened his house to traveling church leaders of the time. Through it all we can see the caring heart of John weaved within his words to the brethren.

Things I Noticed:

(I John)
1. God is Light and in him is no darkness which is the absent of light.
2. If we say we are sinless we are just fooling ourselves.
3. If you say your a believer and that you he is with you then you should walk like Jesus walked.
4. Love your brother cause if you don't you are in darkness.
5. Worldly desires of the flesh, of the eyes and pride of what you own is not of God. Still it sound like many of us Americans.
6. Who is a liar? Those who say Jesus was not the Messiah.
7. The anointing of the Lord should teach you.
8. Need proof of Gods love? Check it out he calls his Children
9. Hope helps to purify. Its like salt, sound familiar?
10. Don't be surprised by the worlds disgust and hate of you.
11. Who does not abides in death.
12. Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
13. Don't believe every spirit, vision, prophecy, prophetic art, etc but test that to see whether it is from God.
14. He who is in you is greater then he who is in the world.
15. There is no fear in love and perfect love casts out all fear.
16. For this is the love of God that we would keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
17. This is he who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. (Yep I am confused to.) For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree (Water Blood Spirit I get there significance John but what the?)
18. Lastly keep yourselves from idols. (This goes for Super Stars, Sports Stars, or any star that takes away from the throne of your attention and then your heart)

(II John)
1. Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win full reward.
2.  Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God.

(III John)
1. Beloved do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God ; whoever does evil has not seen God.
